"I've got some friends that are the same way, I just... never really know what people understand. Maybe if you can tell me what you don't get I can make it work for you?" He means to be helpful, but knows it's the sort of offer some people would probably see as condescending.
"Unless you think it's more fun to figure it out on your own?" He shrugs.
